Federal Employment Eligibility Verification Form I-9

Prior to your first day of work, you will receive an email with information on how to complete Section 1 of your I-9 Form. Follow the instructions provided and complete Section 1 as soon as possible.

According to the Department of Homeland Security's website, "Form I-9 is used for verifying the identity and employment authorization of individuals hired for employment in the United States. All U.S. employers must ensure proper completion of Form I-9 for each individual they hire for employment in the United States... On the form, an employee must attest to his or her employment authorization."

The employee must also present acceptable documents evidencing said identity and employment authorization. These documents are organized into three lists: A, B and C. Employees must either provide one document from List A, or one document from List B and one document from List C. The acceptable document lists can be found at uscis.gov/i-9-central/acceptable-documents.

When you meet with your HR Coordinator to fill out the hiring paperwork, be sure to bring these required documents so that Section 2 of this form can be completed.
