You're Hired! Now what?
Please complete the following tasks before your start date. Be sure to communicate with your supervisor about additional specific departmental requirements to ensure an easy transition into your new position.
You will need to provide all documents for evidence of identity, employment authorization and additional paperwork. Unit HR Coordinators will validate your paperwork and notify your hiring manager that you may begin employment. You may not begin employment until verification is complete.
Federal Employment Eligibility Verification Form I-9 (Section 1): Prior to your first day of work, you will receive an email with information on how to complete Section 1. Follow these instructions and complete Section 1 as soon as possible. On your first day of work, be sure to bring with you to campus required documents that verify your right to work in the United States so that Section 2 of this form can be completed.
RHS Student Team Member Handbook: This document is where you will find information on RHS policies, student responsibilities, and much more. It is very important that you read this before your start date in order to familiarize yourself with the division’s expectations of each student team member.
Note: All positions within RHS are subject to a criminal background investigation based on University policy. Employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation. You may not begin work until the criminal background investigation results have been received and cleared by Human Resources.
Tax forms and Direct Deposit: Beginning the day after your start date, you will be able to access the Enterprise Business System (EBS) using your MSU netID and password. In this system, under the ESS tab at the top, you will be able to complete important tax forms (W-4, etc.) and sign up to have your paycheck directly deposited into your bank account.
